Mira Costa Girls Lacrosse commences CIF Playoffs beginning April 30 at 5:00 pm. Based on the strength of schedule, the team is in Division 1 along with other elite High Schools. That includes cross-town rival, Redondo Union, whom Costa will meet on Tuesday April 30 at 5 pm at Redondo

The Girl’s Lacrosse team lost a squeaker last Wednesday at Peninsula 9-12 to take their overall record to 5-6. Upcoming games include April 10 @ Birmingham and April 12 at Glendale High School. Also a reminder that Senior Night is our final home game on April 17th against Palos Verdes.

Girl’s Lacrosse officially kicked off the season with the Rose Bowl Challenge in Pasadena this past Saturday. Despite some challenging weather and field conditions, Varsity secured a third place finish and JV showed great potential in the games that they played including one against a Varsity team. The annual end of year Mira Costa Girls Lacrosse Banquet was held this past Tuesday, June 5. The night’s festivities celebrated a successful season for both JV and Varsity, the scholar athletes, individual performances and the pending graduation of the three seniors – Jamie Averch, Kallie Collett and Amalia Lohuis.

After falling to Glendale 10-5 on March 13th, the Lady Mustangs Varsity Lacrosse team bounced back with resounding wins over La Canada (16-6) on March 15 and Culver City (14-5) on March 21. Monday’s game against cross-town and conference rival Redondo ended in 14-6 loss and moved Mira Costa to second place
Girls Lacrosse is off to an amazing start, winning their regular season games over Hamilton, Palisades and El Segundo, as well as winning the championship at the Rose Bowl Challenge last weekend. This past weekend they went 1 and 1 at the OC tournament, for an overall record of 7-1.
