Congrats to Costa Rugby graduates
Congratulations to two former Mustang Ruggers! Jahlani Tavai ’14 (#31) and Justus Tavai ’16 (#50). Both former Mira Costa Rugby Captains are playing football for the University of Hawai’i. Jahlani has become one of the top linebackers in the nation and has a great opportunity to play in the NFL. Justus is just starting out and has an extremely bright future playing Defensive Line for the Rainbow Warriors. Both were standout Ruggers for Mira Costa; both were Pioneers playing on the first Costa rugby team. Jahlani was very versatile as he played numerous positions for the Mustangs. Justus was a bruiser as he locked down his role at Inside Center. Jahlani led Costa to their first ever Championship and Justus led Costa to a #7 national ranking in his senior year. Both Ruggers represented the United States in various International Tournaments. While focusing on football right now, you still can’t get the rugby out of them as they are always ready to play a game of touch especially back home at Costa.
