Costa Wrestling competes in CIF!

The Boy’s CIF Championships were held on Friday and Saturday at Citrus Hill High School in Perris. We had three CIF Placers. Congratulations to the follow wrestlers:

Taro Iyadomi (Jr) – 160 lbs – 4th Place
Tyler Gordon (Sr) – 145 lbs – 5th Place
Greg Sevaston (Jr) – 152 lbs – 6th Place

The boys will wrestle next weekend at the Master’s meet held at Cerritos College.

The Girl’s CIF Qualifier was held on Saturday at Downey High School. The team had two placers. Congratulations to the following wrestlers:

Cali Sheldon (Jr) – 118 lbs – 2nd Place
Fiona Thomas (Jr) – 150 lbs – 5th Place

The girls will wrestle next weekend at the CIF Southern Section

Tryout Info

Wrestling is a Winter Sport.
Wrestling is a no cut co-ed sport. There is no prior experience required
The sport is introduced through the PE class and if students like it they can join the team. The coach decides who wrestles for the tournaments. There are Varsity, JV and Frosh/Soph weight classes. Athletes wrestle in practice for the weight positions for the upcoming tournaments.
The sport is open to both boys and girls, and girls are encouraged to join. The girls wrestle each other and participate in girls tournaments, of which there are many.
Wrestling is a Winter sport which runs from November through February. During season, practices are 2-4:30pm with Saturday morning trainings available. During off-season, it is a 6^th period class from 2-3:30pm.
