Upcoming final Boys Water Polo matches vs. Redondo to determine Bay League Championship!

The Boy’s Water Polo Team is approaching the end of a successful season with a 17-9 record overall and a 3-1 record in the Bay League. Last week the Mustangs had an exciting 11-10 victory against the very talented Palos Verdes High School team. Boy’s Water Polo has two remaining league games against cross-town rival Redondo Union High School to determine the Bay League Championship. The last home game of the regular season is October 29th and will also be Senior Day at the pool.

The following week will find the team competing in CIF, starting on November 5!

Last week the team had a pool-side memorial for former Mira Costa Water Polo Alumni Jake Cleland, who recently passed away from complications with Epilepsy. In attendance were Jake’s family and many of his former water polo teammates.

During the month of October, the athletes also did a fundraising campaign for breast cancer research. In addition to wearing pink speedos to create awareness, they raised over $500 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. For more information or to donate to the fund, please go to the Mira Costa Aquatics website at www.mustangaquatics.org.
