Girls Tennis October 2022 Update

The girls Varsity tennis team attended the Point Loma Invitational Tournament. The girls had a special opportunity to travel to San Diego and bond as a team. Varsity girls continue to develop their play against tough competition. It was a great experience for the squad. The JV team competed and won the First Serve Tournament, congratulations to the JV squad! The Frosh team beat Penninsula 9-7 and won the first round of the First Serve Tournament.

The season is in full swing with upcoming home matches next week against Santa Monica and Culver City. The full team of girls is hosting a tennis clinic on Nov 11 for kids from 3rd – 8th grade. Tryout Info

Girls’ Tennis is a Fall Sport.
Tennis is a cut-sport (Varsity/JV).

2024 Fall season tryouts, tentatively during the whole week of August 12, 2024 (final dates may be adjusted).

Parents/players are informed by email of the tennis tryout results within a few days of the end of tryouts.

Players should compete at the junior level. It is very difficult to make a team without experience, but it is not required. Girls’ tennis starts a couple of days before the start of school and runs through mid to late November, although 6th-period class continues until the end of the first semester.

There are no organized off-season workouts. Players are encouraged to play junior tennis on their own.

There is a mandatory TEAM PARENT MEETING that will be held during the first week of school or after tryouts, in Classroom 1 of the Athletic Facility.
