The Mira Costa Girls Varsity Lacrosse team is off to its fastest start in school history, going 7-0 to kick off the 2020 season.!
Although playing in Division 2, Mira Costa’s winning streak record includes impressive wins over Division 1 schools, Crescenta Valley and University High, as well as a stunning last second season opening victory over traditional Division 1 powerhouse, Rancho Santa Margarita.
Led by seniors, Celine Flaig and Jessica Kim, and junior Megan Rodrigues, the Lady Mustangs have outscored their opponents 90-39 so far and now sit alone atop the Division 2 rankings, according to MaxLax.com. According to the most recent MaxPreps update, Mira Costa Girls Lacrosse was ranked #69 in the country and #21 in the state.
When the season resumes, Costa will look to keep its winning streak alive against Palos Verdes, El Segundo, Culver City and of course rival Redondo. A new era of girls lacrosse has begun at Mira Costa.
