Boys Golfers are Ocean League Champions!

The Varsity Boys Golf team completed its league season undefeated and are back to back Ocean League Champions. They have won both home and away matches against North Torrance, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica and Culver City. Sophomore Aidan Oliver led the Mustangs with a 1-under par 33 at Chester Washington Golf Course in their recent matchup with Culver City (187-202). Following that victory, Junior Max Huggins answered with a 1-under par 35 at Culver City’s home course Alondra Golf Course (188-231).  They wrapped up their season with a decisive victory against North Torrance where all five players’ scores were in the 30s.  The team is playing their best golf of the season as they enter league finals and CIF play beginning next week.

Despite a loss against Loyola High School, the Boys JV team remains undefeated (10-0) in league play. In a match-up with Redondo High School, Junior Jack Robinson shot even par at Alondra Golf Course to help secure a 202-228 victory. The JV team sent five golfers to represent Mira Costa at the Cardinal and Gold Classic hosted by Long Beach Wilson High School at Recreation Park Golf Course. Junior Tim Zimmer led the team’s points shooting a 4 over par 76. The team secured a 5th place finish. The JV team wraps up its season with final matches against South Torrance this week.
