Boys Tennis Team is Bay League Champions plus Seniors are recognized!

With a second win against Peninsula, the Varsity team has clinched back to back Bay League Championships with a record so far of 5-0 in Bay League and 17-1 overall. There is one regular season match remaining against Redondo on April 17th.

The JV team has also earned the Bay League title with another great season!  With a win against Redondo, they will finish undefeated.

On March 28th, the  Seniors were celebrated!

In a Bay League rematch at Mira Costa High School, the Mustangs again defeated the Panthers in another match decided by games.  The match was not decided until the last match on the court, with Matthew Poh defeating Josh Masuda 6-3.  In singles, Matthew Poh (MC) won three sets 6-3, 7-6(4), and 6-2; and Tim Dzhurinskiy (MC) won three sets 6-0, 6-2, and 6-1.  In doubles, Max Weulfing/Ethan Han (MC) won two sets 7-6(3) and 7-5; and Tanner Chen/Kelly Giese (MC) won one set 6-1.  With the win, Mira Costa clinched the Bay League title.  This was the Mustangs fifth win in matches tied in sets and then decided in games.

In a Bay League rematch at Palos Verdes High School, the Mustangs again defeated the Sea Kings in another match decided by games.  In singles, Matthew Poh (MC) won two sets 6-1, and 6-0; Tim Dzhurinskiy (MC) won three sets 6-1, 6-1, and 6-0; and Kyle Sillman (MC) won two sets 6-4 and 6-2.  In doubles, Max Weulfing/Ethan Han (MC) won one set 6-0; and Kyle Chen/Nick Darrow (MC) won one set 6-4.  With the win, Mira Costa takes a commanding lead for the Bay League title.
