Girls Soccer takes on Leuzinger and Centennial High School this week!

The Mira costa girls soccer team started off the season with both the Varsity and JV teams winning the South High Holiday tournament and the FROSH/soph teamtaking 2nd.

League play started last week. The Varsity team suffered their first lost against Palos Verdes High school but are looking to come back strong this week against Leuzinger and Centennial High School

Mira Costa Girls soccer tryouts (Fall 2023):

August 28, 29, 30, and September 1 (M, T, W, F) on the WEST field

Returning Players:
8/28, 8/29, 8/30: 2:30 – 3:45pm
9/1: 12:30 – 2pm

New players:
8/28 and 8/29: 3:30-4:45pm
8/30: 7am-8am (this is during the zero period – we’ll discuss these details Monday & Tuesday)
9/1: 12:30pm-2pm

*Friday is a minimum day, so tryouts will be at 12:30-2pm (or whenever you are done with class) for all.

Players will need cleats, shin guards, water, sunscreen and two different colored shirts (dark and light).

It is highly recommended that incoming freshmen sign up for the Summer Soccer camp through MBX. Players will get assessed at this time. Other teams (JV and Varsity) are evaluated in the fall prior to the start of training. The roster is established in early September.
Players should have at least AYSO experience, and many are club players.
Unofficial training starts in September. Official practice starts in November after Thanksgiving and tournaments are during Winter Break. Regular season starts early January and ends late February. CIF may take place during February ski week.
