Girls soccer start season with a win!

The Mira Costa girls soccer season kicked off Wednesday against Santa Monica. The Varsity started strong with a 10-0 win over a Santa Monica and an 8-0 win over Lawndale on Friday.

Both JV and Frosh/Soph teams also came away with Frosh/Soph beating Santa Monica 3-2 and JV defeating Lawndale 12-0.

The girls have a busy week with an away game at Torrance High School on Monday Dec. 3rd and home games vs. competitive teams from South Torrance on Wed. Dec 5th and El Segundo on Friday Dec. 7th.

Mira Costa Girls soccer tryouts (Fall 2023):

August 28, 29, 30, and September 1 (M, T, W, F) on the WEST field

Returning Players:
8/28, 8/29, 8/30: 2:30 – 3:45pm
9/1: 12:30 – 2pm

New players:
8/28 and 8/29: 3:30-4:45pm
8/30: 7am-8am (this is during the zero period – we’ll discuss these details Monday & Tuesday)
9/1: 12:30pm-2pm

*Friday is a minimum day, so tryouts will be at 12:30-2pm (or whenever you are done with class) for all.

Players will need cleats, shin guards, water, sunscreen and two different colored shirts (dark and light).

It is highly recommended that incoming freshmen sign up for the Summer Soccer camp through MBX. Players will get assessed at this time. Other teams (JV and Varsity) are evaluated in the fall prior to the start of training. The roster is established in early September.
Players should have at least AYSO experience, and many are club players.
Unofficial training starts in September. Official practice starts in November after Thanksgiving and tournaments are during Winter Break. Regular season starts early January and ends late February. CIF may take place during February ski week.
