Costa football players selected to All Star Football Game on January 19th!

Congratulations to two Mustang Football players, Nick Carpino (quarterback) and Koda Thormodsgaard (running back, linebacker) who were chosen to participate in the 2019 West Torrance Lions All Star Football Game.

January 19, 2019 Kickoff 6:00pm Location: El Camino College

The Lions All-Star Game is a dynamic event showcasing the finest outstanding high school football players in the South Bay area. The players are selected from a pool of 28 high school teams. Teams include Banning, Beverly Hills, Bishop Montgomery, Carson, Chadwick, Culver City, El Segundo, Gardena, Hawthorne, Inglewood, Lawndale, Leuzinger, Mary Star, Mira Costa, Morningside, Narbonne, North Torrance, Palos Verdes, Peninsula, Redondo, San Pedro, Santa Monica, Serra, South Torrance, St. Bernards, Torrance, Westchester, and West Torrance.

Tryout Info

Football is normally a Fall Sport. Conditioning occurs year-round for players who do not play other Costa sports.
In 2020, football athletes are safely conditioning (non-contact) in small cohorts. Football has traditionally been a no-cut sport (except for lack of commitment).
Experience is welcome, but not mandatory. Most players have never played organized tackle football before their freshman summer.
Mira Costa Football will offer summer conditioning (no pads/non-contact] to all players and interested incoming freshman through MBX. Registration and complete information will be available in March.
