Flag Football – Girls

Welcome to the Mira Costa Flag Football Program. The program was launched in 2023 and has performed competitively at both the Bay League and CIF levels. There are two teams: Varsity and JV.

Tryout Info

Tryouts are typically in late May, with several optional clinics held in the preceding weeks. Tryouts generally last 2 days and are supervised by the coaching staff. Decisions are made the weekend following tryouts, and all players are notified thereafter, with a goal of forming the team before school lets out for the summer.
Prior experience is not required, but is helpful, as Mira Costa flag football is fairly competitive.

Practices begin 1-2 weeks before school starts with a mandatory preseason, as games start within a day or two of the first day of school. The season runs until late October, although Varsity may run into mid-November depending on CIF playoffs.
