This John Wooden quote resonated throughout the 2023/2024 season. The boys fought hard and came together as a team. In the CIF Southern Section D1 Playoff game against St. Bernard, victory slipped away in the last few seconds, but the Mustangs gave their all until the final buzzer. The program has so much to be proud of with a Varsity winning record (18-11), 4 All-Bay League Selections (1st Team: Enesai Piuleini, Jacob De Armas, and 2nd Team: Preston Ezewiro, and James Reach), six graduating seniors, an undefeated season for JV and a winning record for Frosh/Soph. There are countless achievements to celebrate.
The booster club stands in awe of our student-athletes, who showcased talent, resilience, and teamwork on the court all season, all while having fun. We have so much gratitude for our coaches, who are firmly committed to this team and player growth. And a huge thank you goes out to our spirited fans and supportive parents who brought the hype, pom-poms, and organized cheers to every game.
On January 30th, we had a chance to honor our six graduating seniors who’ve spent the last four years helping to shape the legacy and leadership of this program: #1 Jacob Anuszewski, #13 Alexander Martinez, #20 Nick Huang, #22 Nigel Stephens, #24 James Reach, and #33 Reid Roman-Wilson. We are incredibly proud of each of these young men and the mark they’ve left on our program. We look forward to celebrating at the end-of-season program-wide banquet on Tuesday, March 12, and can’t wait to hear what’s next. Go Mustangs – #outworkeveryone!
