Costa Bands performs at football game and Hometown Fair over busy weekend!

The MCHS Marching Band and Colorguard helped get MBMS students into the Mira Costa Spirit at a Pep Rally on Oct. 4th at MBMS. Together with members of the Cheer and Football teams, they passed on the love of Green & Gold.

Friday was the Green and Gold Game at Waller Stadium. Band members were accompanied by 114 Middle School students, who joined the Marching Band in a pre-game performance on the field, and then played with them in the stands for the rest of the evening. The Marching Band then performed their field show, “Outside the Bachs” during half time, which was a warm-up for their first tournament next weekend.

Saturday morning the Marching Band and Colorguard helped to open the 45th Annual Manhattan Beach Hometown Fair, which is a tradition they are proud to be a part of. They also hosted a game and pizza booth to help keep busy throughout the weekend.

They continue to have weekly practices and are looking forward to attending 5 tournaments in the next two months.

Additionally, congratulatations to 5 Band National Merit Semifinalists: Lauren Schlick, Alexander Le, Joseph Cohn, Josephine Qi and Jonathan Scalabrini. Band members make up 7% of the Mira Costa student body, but were 40% of the semifinalists.
