Costa Choir participates in the Citrus Hill SCVA Festival!
On April 12th, Vocal Ensemble participated in the Citrus Hill SCVA Festival with a very challenging program of Hakenberger’s “Exultate Justi,” C. V. Stanford’s “Justorum Animae” and Mozart’s “Dies Irae”’from the Requiem. Not only did they receive a Superior rating, but also a perfect score. Congratulations to all our talented singers who sang with such integrity, artistry and skill. We are so proud of all of you!
On April 23rd, Mira Costa Choirs hosted Andrea Gardner and her 60-voice combined choir from Diamond HS in Anchorage, Alaska and Dr. Lee Nelson and the 80-voice Wartburg College Choir at nearby Manhattan Beach Community Church. The Vocal Ensemble and Mustang Chorale joined in for an exciting morning of great choirs. What a fantastic day of sharing choral music. Thanks to our guests and their wonderful choirs!
Choir Silent Auction at Spring Concert
Mira Costa Choirs will have its annual silent auction fundraiser at the spring choir concert on June 4th, and we are now beginning our search for “experience” auction items to be donated for the event. We would love to hear about any experience items you may have to contribute:
– Gift certificates for the theater, concerts, sporting events
– Gift cards for movies, iTunes, retail stores, restaurants, ice cream shops
– Getaway items, including airline tickets and hotel vouchers
– Personal services such as manicure, massage, and chiropractic care
– Professional services, including decorating and home improvement
– Music lessons, including voice, piano, or other instruments
– Do you have a vacation home, boat, or time share? Please consider donating it for a week or weekend.
– Get creative: host a Dad’s Poker Night or Mom’s Night Out event for a group
– Like to cook? How about hosting a cooking party?
Also, please don’t be shy. Ask for certificates from those businesses that provide you services throughout the year. Many are happy to donate and possibly obtain a new client. Be sure to let potential contributors know these donations are tax deductible. Also, please be sure to submit all contributors’ names and addresses so they can be thanked and properly acknowledged in our program.

Choir Dept. CPK Fundraiser – Mon.,June 3rd
Announcing a Choir Dept. Fundraiser at California Pizza Kitchen!
Please join us at CPK in the Manhattan Village Mall on Monday, June 3rd.
All students, parents, family, and friends are invited.
When you purchase your meal, just mention you’re there for the Mira Costa Choirs fundraiser, and the restaurant will donate 20% of your meal’s price back to the choir department.
We’d like to get all Costa choir students together at CPK for dinner right after the final spring concert rehearsal that evening. Rehearsal ends at 5:30, so it would be great if everyone could be there around 5:45-6:00.
If you can’t make it for dinner, come anytime that day from 11am-10pm and just let your server know you’re there to support the Mira Costa Choirs.
