Girls Tennis defeats Westlake on tiebreaker to advance to CIF-SS Division 1 Final!

Mira Costa plays Dana Hills in the Finals on Friday, November 9, at the Claremont Club in Claremont at 10:30 am.

In the Semifinals of the Division 1 playoffs, in a match that was tied 3-3 after the first round, 6-6 after the second round, and 9-9 after the third round, Mira Costa defeated Westlake, the Marmonte League Champion, 9 to 9.   In singles, Audrey Vo (MC) won two sets 7-5 and 6-2; and Nicole Wuelfing (MC) won one set 6-2..  In doubles, Lindsay Giese/Peyton Douglas (MC) won two sets 7-5 and 6-1; Olga Nagy/Kacey Feng (MC) won two sets 6-1 and 6-0; and Haily Huynh/Sydney Vo (MC) won two sets 6-3 and 6-0.

In the Quarterfinals of the Division 1 playoffs, Mira Costa defeated Marlborough, the Mission League Champions, 12 to 6.   In singles, Audrey Vo (MC) won two sets 6-0 and 6-0; Nicole Wuelfing (MC) won two sets 6-2 and 6-2; and Kiki Daviduk (MC) won one set 6-1.  In doubles, Lindsay Giese/Amanda Scott (MC) won two sets 6-3 and 6-4; Olga Nagy/Kacey Feng (MC) won three sets 6-1, 6-0, and 6-0; and Haily Huynh/Sydney Vo (MC) won two sets 6-2 and 6-2.

Mira Costa plays Westlake in the Semifinals on Wednesday, November 7, at home.

In the second round of the Division 1 playoffs, Mira Costa dominated Santa Monica, the Ocean League Champions, 14 to 4.   In singles, Audrey Vo (MC) won one set 6-1; Nicole Wuelfing (MC) won two sets 6-0 and 6-2; and Kiki Daviduk (MC) won two sets 6-1 and 6-2.  In doubles, Lindsay Giese/Amanda Scott (MC) won three sets 6-3, 6-4, and 6-2; Olga Nagy/Kacey Feng (MC) won two sets 6-3 and 6-1; Hannah Bergin/Evelyn Le (MC) won one set 6-4; and Haily Huynh/Sydney Vo (MC) won three sets 6-1, 6-1 and 6-0.
