South Bay Families Connected
The South Bay Families Connected (SBFC) not-for-profit board thanks our generous Sponsors and Education Partners for their commitment to improving the social-emotional wellness and mental health of our South Bay youth, and preventing harmful patterns of concern in our community, including underage substance abuse.
Donations made to SBFC support the following components of the project:
- Connecting parents and caregivers with evidence-based wellness information, trending articles, and resources through our free monthly Families Connected E-newsletter and social media pages.
- Providing free education events and workshops that serve thousands of parents and youth each year, including the ongoing Families Connected Speaker Series and our teen mindfulness workshops, helping youth learn to “unplug from their devices and reconnect with themselves”, the annual South Bay Opioid Awareness event, and other partnered events on a variety of wellness topics.
- Effectively and efficiently promoting eduction events with parents throughout the South Bay and at our 80+ SBFC Partner Schools via the mobile responsive SBFC Event Calendar.
- Supporting parents with in-person opportunities to connect and learn, including The Families Connected Parent Chat and Walking Group
- Reducing the stigma around the challenges that many families face by connecting our community with authentic stories and expert advice via the SBFC Parent Blog and Teen Blog.
- Establishing collaborative relationships with other area not-for-profits, school administrators, community stakeholders, and parents to ensure that the project meets the needs of the community in a way that avoids duplication of service and maximizes its reach and long-term measurable impact.
SBFC’s not-for-profit status is provided under the umbrella of the MBX Foundation (MBX Tax ID: #02-0603467). The MBX Foundation was established in May 2003 and operates as a community foundation for over thirty booster clubs in the Manhattan Beach Unified School District.
Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution to South Bay Families Connected to help us bring parenting education, resources, and support to our South Bay Community. MBX is currently unable to process SBFC donations online, so please make your donations by check.
