Costa defeats West Torrance with 3rd straight win! Come support Costa vs. rival Palos Verdes on Friday!

The Mustangs continued their winning ways against West Torrance with a 41-14 win. With Costa up 14-7, the game’s turning point came when Costa senior Jackson Fischer saved a touchdown by tracking down West’s running back inside the 10 yard line after a huge gain. On the next play, Costa junior Zane Thormodsgaard gobbled up a fumbled West snap, recovering the ball for Costa’s high powered offense. Junior Costa quarterback Sam Whitney proceeded to march the Mustangs the full length of the field for a touchdown and a commanding 21-7 lead. Costa tacked on 3 more touchdowns and earned its 3rd straight win going into its bye week before facing Bay League rival Palos Verdes on October 4th.

Tryout Info

Football is normally a Fall Sport. Conditioning occurs year-round for players who do not play other Costa sports.
In 2020, football athletes are safely conditioning (non-contact) in small cohorts. Football has traditionally been a no-cut sport (except for lack of commitment).
Experience is welcome, but not mandatory. Most players have never played organized tackle football before their freshman summer.
Mira Costa Football will offer summer conditioning (no pads/non-contact] to all players and interested incoming freshman through MBX. Registration and complete information will be available in March.
