MUN starts the year off with some team bonding

Mira Costa Model United Nations held their annual senior-sophomore team day on Friday, September 8, 2017. The seniors and sophomores grouped into teams and participated in an Amazing Race-style scavenger hunt across the Mira Costa campus. This annual tradition allows for the older students to get to know the younger students in a unique way, and participating in the activities allowed for bonding and teamwork. Some of the challenges included cracking codes to find clues around campus, taking photos with objects around campus, and taking spy videos of other teams. The activities were followed by music, snow cones, and pizza.

The Model UN students have also been participating in two in-class debates on European refugees. The in-class debates have allowed for students to practice for upcoming debates this year in places from Montreal to New York City. The sophomores are currently preparing for two local debates, South Orange County Model UN, and Cerritos Model UN.
